Veeeeexen? Demyx called, peering around the edge of the door. Vexen, are you here? he said, looking around the lab. Hearing only silence, he grinned. Awesome. Dr. Freaktastics not here the one time I need him. Well, just have to come back later or never he said, looking around. He spotted a clear box full of greenery and light, and cocked his head.
Uh oh, looks like someones been experimenting on Marlys garden again while hes gone. Pinkys not gonna like that, Demyx muttered, crossing to the box for a better look. He peered through the plastic at the grass rustling softly. A dozen curious eyes peered up at him from between the yellowing blades, swaying gently in unison as Demyx tilted his head at them. Xigbar stepped out of a dark portal, pausing to look around as it closed behind him. He found himself standing in the middle of a vast field of gently waving tall grass, not the barren charred landscape Axel has spoken of with such excitement. The only hints that seemed to even vaguely match his story were the skeletal, blackened remains of a few trees dotting the field, and the still smouldering remains of a village in the distance.
Axel had described a sea of horror, a great infestation of vicious heartless that consumed everything. Hed been covered in ash and a thousand small cuts, raving about a living sea of monsters, but all Xigbar saw now was greenery and an almost unnerving silence.
