Front view of my model of Destiny Island from the videogame Kingdom Hearts. it's made of sculpey, and painted with acrylics. some of the tree trunks are clay covered wire, and others are simply painted twist-tie wire because i couldn't find craft wire thin enough.
construction took about a week and a half, and almost another day to build the acrylic box to keep it in. most of the detail work was done with things like an eyeglass screwdriver, a mechanical pencil, and a cheap stiff plastic bristled paintbrush for the sand texture.
I entered it into Tekkoshocon's modeling competition this year, and won "Best Anime Diorama", "Best of show" and "people's Choice." ^_^! (you can see part of the "best of show" trophy behind it through the case.)
*edit* forgot to mention the entire island is around 3 inches tall, not including the wooden base.
